Track 6 is another round of personal testimony. We all have things we battle with and areas to grow in. Thank God Almighty for His grace and mercy!
lyrics
In the beginning, I came in this thing as the underdog
Loving on my supporters - I know this ain't under y'all
Loving, living the standards, I know this ain't protocol
Watch - the one who is exalting himself - Will get humbled dawg
And that ain't bout to be me! I'll stay humble
Those who ego trip, I'll watch them as they crumble
But those who submit to Jah, He'll catch 'em when they stumble
Restore them and then flex, cuz ain't a guess He's got the muscle
I speak from position, firsthand - I've had to struggle
With everything from drugs to loss of love to lawful trouble
Locked up - but nothing like the boy in the bubble
Good hands, some bad; been lost in the shuffle
I've lost friends along the way & misguided people
Lied out the side of my face; been deceitful
Been up, chest out, shouting from the steeple
Been low, rock-bottom - the ground & me were equal
Became an alcoholic at the early age of fifteen
Addictive personality made it difficult to stay clean
Suicidal tendencies - that became a routine
Pills were my fiends - any color - red, blue, green
Good kid - kinda sorta; maybe some would say mean
Southpaw, artistic boy who simply had some big dreams
Though, they never been about the diamond grills - say bling
Or even stacks of Benji's and the kinda stuff that they'd bring
Survived cancer, age six, and I ain't seen the same since
Black panthers, slave ship - does my life contain hints
Blind standards play tricks. Bloodline, I hate this
Find answers? Take hits - get me out this matrix
I can't see the circumstances sitting on the porch
Family tree, broken branches - riddled in divorce
Father, well, an absentee, and steered a different course
Is my marriage guaranteed to carry on the torch
This year, seventeen, and had our share of close calls
Fix here - ketamine mix speed for those brawls
COVID-19, lockdown in four walls
Stovetop - pipedreams, that's how the stone falls
I've poured out my heart to you - no need for being fake
You can see from this display, life is not a piece of cake
No peaches with the cream, slice of pie, easy-bake
It's comprised of God's will plus decisions we make
I could probably boast that I've fallen farther than you
Cause me falling farther than you may not be far from truth
But I'd rather spend my time bragging about the Truth
The One who saved me is the One who can save you
Gave the life He gave me back to Him - 2005
Tell you honest truth, without His grace, I would have died
Never truly knowing life, debased & full of pride
But now I'm flawed, but perfect in Him - faith is open wide
I just want to draw a life that people relate and feel
Let them know the storms of ice will come, no skates of steel
To lace up and support us right - and test of faith reveals
We need the Lord, the Fortress, and let Jesus take the wheel
I gladly let him take control and leave His living legacy
Cuz with me on the roll, I know that it would be the death of me
Glory to the Captain of my soul who conquered sinning
He did that long ago, but this is only the beginning
